Director Sonali Bose is a director who applauded for critically acclaimed films. From her first directorial debut Amu which explored the topic of a politically tied genocide to Margarita with Straw a film which explored the much-opposed topic of homosexuality a differently-abled person. The director’s upcoming film Sky Is Pink tells yet another brilliantly brave story of Aisha Choudhary’s parents. Aisha was a motivational speaker who was suffering from life-threatening lung disease.
Sonali spoke with Aisha’s mother Aditi Choudhary for 112 hrs before to she set down to pen the screenplay. The first half the trailer indicates that movie is gonna be the story an estrange Rome and Juliet. However, the second half squash all your lovely hope by introducing you to the character of Aisha played by Zaira Wasim. The film explores the hardship and pain Aisha’s parents went through in their lives and how they coped up with Aisha’s health.
The film stars Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar in lead roles as Aisha’s parents. The film is slated to release in at Toronto film festival and then make its way to India in October.
